Here we are, another year.

I really don’t know how I made it through 2018. Sheer willpower.

I guess that’s a good thing.

I mean, given what I had to go through in 2017, I give myself major credit for keeping it together.

For me, 2018 was really about finding my feet. An international move, settling in to a new home, and just figuring out what my life was going to look like took a lot of effort.

I spent a lot of time in meditation, a lot of time journaling, and a lot of time thinking but not obsessing (something new for me). I forced myself to slow down, and that is the best thing I could have done for myself. I taught myself how to be more mindful, more honest, and more present.

It really was a year of self-reflection and grounding.

This year, I hope to build on that foundation.

I went to a website, wordoftheyear.me, which is a word generator that gives you a random word for the year. The word I got was LIVE. I intend to do my very best to fulfil that word – not just go through the motions of life, but actually live.

Edit:
Since the publishing of this post, I have launched a podcast! In episode 2 of my podcast, I chat with my best friend and we reflect on how 2018 went for us and what we have planned for 2019. Check it out.

I am so thankful for the support system I have around me. I am also thankful that for the first time in my life, I have honored the space that I needed to heal, grieve, and find my way. I filled with emotion and gratitude as I look through these highlights of 2018.
